A piece dedicated to my mother.

This atmospheric wallpaper is inspired by the distinct details of my mother’s identity and the ornaments that fill her living spaces. Central to the composition is a family heirloom, the grandfather clock, which has been transformed from a physical object into a two dimensional image that conveys continuity and memory. Intertwined among the antiques are orchids, delicately twisting through the composition as a tribute to her favourite flower. Their presence is both decorative and symbolic, capturing her taste and elegance.

This piece was entirely hand-painted using a blend of Chinese watercolours and acrylic paint. The use of darkness and high contrast elements heightens the mood, creating a layered and immersive atmosphere. Designed to evoke a sense of interiority and closeness, this wallpaper draws the viewer into a space that feels intimate and reflective.

While time inevitably moves forward, it also holds and preserves our most treasured emotions. The clock becomes a metaphor for how memory endures, capturing the way emotions are held in imagery, even as time passes.
