Lilies and Relics

Screen printed on hand-dyed silk, finished with gold leaf.

‘Lilies and Relics’ was thoughtfully crafted to evoke the feeling of stepping into a remembered room, where the objects speak softly and time feels suspended. Inspired by the antiques in my grandparents’ home, this work captures the intimacy of lived-in spaces, with cherished details carefully hand-gilded.

At the heart of this work is my grandmother, a florist whose favourite flower, the white lily, graces this composition as a devotion. This work is both personal and ornamental. Her tapestry stands tall and dominates the piece.
